Thanks guys, I have a thing for long exposures. By the way, has anyone had experience with a Cokin NDX filter?

Stunning shot but I'll ask the question that everyone else seems to have missed....

Quote:Used a Cokin Grad ND8 filter

Why? Surely the whole reason for using the HDR technique is to 'cram' a wider dynamic range into the image than the sensor can handle?

Quote:and a 30sec shutter speed for all 5 exposures.

So you changed the aperture to alter the exposures? So how did you get around the problem of differing DoF with each of the five shots? Or have I missed something here?

I pulled the Grad ND8 further down than I normally would so I could get the long shutter speed. Didn't have an ND8.

As for the 2nd question, yes I had to change the aperture to get different exposures. To get around the problem of differing DOF the max aperture used was f8, and since it was at 24mm and I was a fair distance away from the subject which meant DOF issues weren't as obvious. Ofcourse I would have preferred to change the shutter speed for HDR but I didn't have a remote so anything over 30secs would have been hard.
