Calpe Roses

By LynneJoyce
I was inspired by Billyray's recent rose montage to go back and edit the photographs of roses that I took back in may on our last visit to the Spanish property. It was a particularly fine season for roses there and I got hundreds of pics, most taken in bright, bright sunshine which is not ideal, but what the hell, here goes.

We are off there again next week by car and ferry this time to transport 'stuff' hence my not being around much as 'stuff' has to be sorted and packed. With luck there will still be roses and sunshine too.

V1 is not my favourite (not sure which is) but one that I thought made a nice thumbnail. Do let me now which is yours if you have one.

Anyway, thank you for looking, and I hope that you enjoy at least some of them.

A great series, Lynne. V11 is my favorite for the comp, exposure and the border treatment.

You bring us the glory of the garden. I like V8 for the abstraction. Wish this series was scratch and sniff. Smile

What a feast of roses all in one go, Lynne: there are some real beauties here and if I had to choose favourites it would be the full frame filler at V 5 and the blue rose at V 6.
But a difficult choice with so many excellent shots.

V2, V5 & V6 are my favourites.
V2 for the yellow/grey contrast.
V6 - love the lilac with little purple bud.
V5 is my ultimate favourite - square format works
well and love t eabstract feel.
Great framing throughout.

These are all excellent Lynne, as stated a hard choice but V4 for the softness is my choice, excellent processing on all.

Hard to decide on a favourite but possibly V5. Stunning colours and presentation. I think many of my poor Roses have decided to give up for 2012 and who could blame them?

The blue rose is spectacular! My gut says v3 for me, but a close call over v5.

I am an undecisive guy Lynne and I just hate making decisions.I always find it hard choosing a favourite.I just bought myself seven pairs of socks each with a different day of the week written on them.I thought this would alleviate my decision making regarding what pair to wear each day.Only problem is my memory is failing so I can't remember what day of the week it is when I wake up.No problem you may think as all I need to do is switch on breakfast telly to find out the day,but I usually have trouble remembering where I left the remote control the night before. When I do eventually find it and switch on,if it is Kate Galloway on the settee,I remember the reason I watch it in the first place is not to find out what day of the week it is,but to watch Kate instead. My computer tells me it is Thursday 00:15 at the bottom right of the screen,so I shall make my favourite V5 as Thursday is the fifth day of the week !!

A wonderful selection, Lynne, with V.6 being my favourite. The roses did well here earlier on this year, but now the heat has left them looking very tired. Carol
V4 for the wonderful shallow focus and V11 for the petals in such marvellous curves.

Beautiful set, Lynne. I like V2 most, because of the harmony; V6's colour is beautiful, very calm. The colour and texture are all excellent. Wonderful presentations.

You're an expert in the art of presentation Lynne as this set proves. If I must choose it's got to be 5.
