Dogs Life

By LynneJoyce
This freaky weather had me fondly recalling a week away in the caravan at Poolsbrook Country Park in May when my toughest task was keeping the dogs cool. Looking for photographic confirmation that it had indeed been sunny and warm, I came across these images which show what a tough life our dogs, Helmut & Helga have! If the Hindus are right and there is reincarnation I want to come back as a German Shepherd with a similar lifestyle. That way nobody will mess with me and I still get to be a Bitch!Wink

I have led with my favourite of the bunch because it so perfectly describes our week there - sunshine, buttercups, hazy heat and the dogs enjoying themselves on one of the many, many walks there. The rest should speak for themselves, though I might add some captions.

Helmut is the short coated red sable dog, Helga is the long haired, dark sable bitch. Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy some of them.

What a totally adorable set. Both gorgeous dogs, although Helmut doesn't seem to have his camera face on in V10. Grin

V 3 and 5 with them snoozing are excellent but my favourite is V 2......I can just imagine it saying "did I hear someone mention walkies or what?"
A lovely set all round though and in which it seems iniquitous to pick a winner.

As Lynne commented to me while walking the dogs the other day, v1 really does epitomise that week's trip. And for all my detractors v7 shows why I don't post more photos.

So it's v1 for me, a fantastically evocative image!

Your Helmut ceretainly loves his down time doesn't he Grin. 2 beautiful GSDs, and keeping Helga's coat lovely will be a job in itself for you. Great set of shots and love your presentation - wish I know how to do that!
I think I remember that week in May - it was summer wasn't it? TongueGrin

I don't have a dog myself Lynne, but my sister has,and I love her to bits. They say a mans best friend is his dog and even although she is not mine she is still my best friend. She is getting a bit old in the tooth but not really a problem as so am I.I enjoy taking her out for walks as she likes a sit down rest when I do.
Unlike my wife she does not mind going into the pub with me as she gets spoilt rotten with the crisps the guys give her.Perhaps if they gave my wife some crisps this may put a smile on her face too.Talking of my wife,we spent our honeymoon in a caravan in Eyemouth. There for a fortnight and I have never been so exhausted in my life.Met some guys from the fishing club and it was really hard going with all the fishing I did.I wish I had a dog then as it would have kept my wife company when I was away catching our supper !!
Good doggy set.
