Northumberland Revisited

By LynneJoyce
After Garrath died in 2017 I tried to embrace my solitude and I found the perfect place to do it, the Northumberland Coast. Since then, whenever I feel really down, I revisit there and it really lifts my spirits.

The vast, near empty beaches are the perfect place to spend hours walking, with or without a dog, and I have been looking forward to taking Alfred there with his brother Ansel, now an old hand at the pleasures of Northumberland beaches.

The lockdown has scuppered that possibility so I decided to revisit Northumberland using some of the photographs I took whilst there. That is one of the many, many merits of photography - captured memories - so here are some of mine.

I chose the opener because it shows someone else enjoying solitude there. The rest give a few insights into the area's many charms.

As ever the exif applies only to the first shot. Several lenses were used for other images in this set.

Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of these images.

what a way to show your memories off Lynne,
especially liking version 7
hopefully we can all get out again safely..
fed up with some people just taking the 'mick' and flaunting the rules
regardless of other's staying in and just taking their short walks
sorry Rant over!
Have an award too

A wonderful set of beautifully taken photographs telling the story of just how you feel and how devastated you are. Choosing one image would just break up this wonderful set.

Stunning set Lynne - I too have happy memories of that area.
We stayed in Seahouses years ago and had spent weekends
with my late husband in that area too. Unspoilt wonderful beaches.
I love V2. 6 and 7 to name but a few.

I like the isolation in V8 but am not enjoying my enforced isolation, we are only minutes away from the sea - this is a lovely set.

Well worth the revisit, Lynne.

Not seen much of this area of the UK, but we had a great Camera Club outing to Newcastle, Whitley Bay, St Mary's Lighthouse and up to Warkworth & Alnmouth way back in 2009 (is it really so long ago?!) 👍 A fine collection here, Lynne, love 'em all, but especially V7...and rather like the processing in V14 too... 😃👍
