Overshadowed

By LynneJoyce
A sideways concession the Shadow Saturday convention, this post is all about the lovely things that get overshadowed and overlooked, the photographer's attention usually grabbed by more colourful, obvious plants and flowers. They are often tiny and apparently insignificant, not brightly coloured, and they waft on long, slender stems with every slight breeze (apart from the Lichens on the tree trunk of course) so are difficult to capture. Needless to say I love trying to capture them partly because of the challenge and partly because the camera lens reveals tiny details that are difficult to see with the naked eye.

These were all taken in Calpé, Spain near to Las Salinas, and I still have the scars from the mosquito bites to prove it. I have opened with my personal favourite, but I love them all. There are lots of blowsier, more colourful wild flower shots still to come, but I chose to start with these tiny, subtle beauties.

Thank you for looking and I hope that you enjoy at least some of them.

Splendid set, Lynne. I shot similar things, but hesitated to upload them. Fine images and all are wonderfully presented.

What a wonderful set, Lynne. Plants that get overlooked often have much more going for them than the showy ones. Your lead image is a beauty!

A wonderful set, Lynne, showing how dry the season is. Here we have 40C and upwards every day, and everywhere is parched.

A wonderful collection, Lynne, with so many it's hard to pick favourites, but after much toggling, think the first of the versions has to be my choice Smile
