Chihuly Nights

By LynneJoyce
I'm back from the wonderful holiday in Portugal with Isabel, but that was followed by being in quarantine due to Norovirus. I now feel half human again but incredibly frustrated because the updated OS on my Mac seems to have screwed Photoshop. This post has taken forever to put together.

Anyway, here it is, a set of images taken at the magical Chihuly Nights exhibition at Kew Gardens on Saturday. I went there with my male mother-in-law and dear friend Philip, featured in the last image, and we were completely blown away by the exhibition. Do please go to see it if you possibly can.

All the images were tricky to capture. There were lots of visitors so getting to a reasonable viewpoint was hard. Glass is tricky anyway, glass in glass cases even trickier and with the outdoor ones I couldn't see the camera dials in the pitch black. Whatever, I did my best and here is a small sample of the results.

Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of these glittering specimens.

I tried to get tickets for last Thurs or Friday but all sold out!! Might be too dark for my next possible date. You have a good selection of the ones I saw in daylight.

Lots of work there Lynne. Very good - especially under the circumstances.
Yes, every new OS means that we lose something it seems.
I keep an older computer just for Photoshop.

Can often be difficult at exhibitions with bloomin' visitors/tourists getting in the way 😬 A wonderful collection here, Lynne, with the lead and V4 especially being my faves, but all very well captured, love 'em! 👍
Glad to hear you're on the mend 😀

I love Chihuly's work. It is so organic and earthy yet at the same time, ethereal.
You have done a stellar job photographing it. There are some new pieces here that I haven't seen.
V4 and 6 are magnificent examples of his small work,
