Eye Candy In Training 1

By LynneJoyce
This set, the first of three, is from the lovely day I spent with Barbara (barbarahirst) in Leeds in June. There will be a picture of her in a later post.

We got the water taxi from near The Dark Arches to Clarence Dock but when we got there we couldn't moor in the usual place because the Fire & Rescue Service were engaged in a water rescue training exercise. They apologised but we assured them that there was no need because they had provided us with an unique photo opportunity. The title is a concession to the people who find firefighters a particular turn-on.

I have opened with the briefing, the rest show various aspects of the training exercise right through to them leaving the water. You have seen a few from this exercise in a previous post about the day in Leeds but this one is devoted entirely to the Fire Service. I contacted the Fire stations involved afterwards and sent them CD's with all the images on. They were delighted with them.

I spent a year as a member of the West Yorkshire Fire Authority and met with members of the Highland and Islands Fire and Rescue Service during that year. Members of Fire and Rescue are the most decent people I have ever met and this, along with the other posts from this event which will come later, is my tribute to them and the wonderful work that they do.

As ever the exif applies only to the first shot. Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of them.

A set of fantastic images!
However, I feel the fancy framing (very nice as it is!) detracts from the seriousness of the subject matter, and they would be better without it.

A wonderfully taken, beautifully presented set of images..I truly agree that
Quote:Members of Fire and Rescue are the most decent people...
They are decent and brave, saving lives and properties regardless the danger they put themselves in, ... and also saving cats on the top of the trees. Grin Very unique British fire fighters in the world, great people.
