Rocks, Romans & Ruins.

By LynneJoyce
Starting with an ultra wide shot of a Roman Amphitheatre, this post features 16 images from my coach excursion to Limmasol on January 3rd, via a few ancient sites. Those Romans were remarkably clever architects and mosaic artists as evidenced here, though their idea of sport was distinctly dubious. The one seascape (V1) features Aphrodite's rock which legend has as her birthplace and the post ends with an extra shot featuring every architectural and landscape photographer's nightmare, the person who plonks themselves in the middle of your carefully set up shot and refuses to budge.

The weather was naff for the trip but even in heavy rain the light is much better than in the Northern climes at home. I am so glad that I packed the camera's raincoat.

As ever the exif applies only to the opening image. Various lenses were used. Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of the images.

A wonderful, and as always, varied collection of images, Lynne. As with my Verona Arena, the amphitheatre was made for the fisheye lens! 😀 I've often been faced with situations like the last version, when someone walks into your shot and won't budge - I'm convinced they do it on purpose 🤬
