Summer Fungi (For RonnieAG)

By LynneJoyce
A post dedicated to our resident mycological magician RonnieAG. I can't compete with his command of the genre but here are my recent captures.

Summer is not the time that you expect to see fungi and since the all seem to be brown or brownish you have to keep a sharp eye out to see them. Then, of course, you have to be prepared to get down and dirty to capture them. I find the compact by far the best instrument for this purpose because its small size allows you to get under specimens.

I am getting quite good at spotting the best locations on my regular dog walks. There is a section of one walk that I refer to as the Amanita run because now we have Amanita pantherina (Panther Cap) seen here and in the Autumn we will have everybody's favourite, Amanita muscaria (Fly Agaric) in the same place. Sadly I don't have the knowledge that an eastern European lady whom I met last Autumn in St Ives had. She had a carrier bag full of edible beauties but she would not tell me where she found them.

Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of these images.

You have quite a collection there. I love to find the mushrooms, they are all so individual. Your lead image is an amazing shot.....you must have been lying down for that one. I used to do that, but I can't get up anymoreGrinGrin

A fabulous set, Lynne and a wonderful dedication. I particularly like your lead image and V11.

Not very nice of the Eastern European lady not to tell you which corner shop she bought her mushrooms from. Wink
