Thanks Hermin. nice modificationSmile I quickly resized some shots onto disc for epz when I left Crete, so I could upload from my inlaws computer over the holiday.
It looks over sharpened here, but didn't on my own monitor.

Thanks Mark. It's just a little compact but it's served me well Smile

This is a really lovely family image. My only negative comment would be the horizon cutting through the couples heads. Changing the height of the viewpoint a fraction, either up or down, would of really made a difference imo

I wouldn't change the composition of this one at all. The horizon thru' the heads doesn't bother me and the tonal balance is right for me. A lovely family study.

This is a most amazing shot, I keep looking at it, a mother and child, a special love, a perfect shot. It's outstanding Pat, how I wish I could take shots like this. I can't believe this has not recived an ec, is the editor short sighted or is because it's not an eagle or a tiger. This is brilliant, can't find the words to tell you how good it is, but I'm proud to know you.
Congratulations Pat.

Thanks to each and everybody, very apreciated comments and critique, and especial thanks for the modifications...SUPERB!

I feel I should explain a few things. My aim is to improve so I put shots up hoping the 'bad bits' will be pointed out and I can learn and do a better job, so I asked our smashing editor not to concider me for an EC.

The new sight is so fantastic with the modification option, I don't want photographers, whos work I admire, to stop pointing out my mistakes. Each and every click, comment and modification means as much to me as an EC might mean to another, so a huge and sincere thanks for taking the time and trouble Smile

Daughters wedding: I have been in UK for 2 week (leave tonight for Crete) for Michelle's wedding, it was purly a nessesity for the USA government (where she works). The 'big dress' job will be in Leeds in the summer.

Magda and Paul Indigo kindly took photos; their work was delightful and unintrusive for both candid and formal shots. We are all very thrilled with pics that marked the official nuptuals and have commissioned them to do the formal wedding in the summer.

So that's why I don't have any wedding shots to post, Karen, I didn't take any Smile But you may well see some in the Indigo's pf, I hope so, they are brilliant!

Amazed by the response here, thank you all so much. Don't know what to say today, just so amazed by the kind words and help everyone has given me. 'Thank you' seems inadequate, but it's all I've got.

to me, you have a very strong portfolio. some of your shots seem to be of a very professional standard; if this is you with just a compact camera, then i'd love to see what you produce with a digital SLR, you'd probably knock the socks off a lot of well established photographers!

fantastic stuff. very well done.

What a lovely thing to say, thanks!

Unfortunately I have the big SLR now and I'm a bit like a kid with a box of chocolates...really enjoying it but mostly just making a big mess Grin
