The midnight hour

By mrswoolybill
The clock, played by Mary, sounds midnight. Cinderella, played by Pat, is panic-stricken. Prince Charming, played by Mrs JawDborn , is puzzled.
On the left, the Fairy Godmother and Ugly Sister look on. They too are obviously in the grip of powerful emotions.
First of two uploads from an alternative version of Cinderella.
Another day in the life of our Parish Hall. In a small community we have to make our own entertainment.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

No sign of enjoyment here but it is a fine candid to enjoy.

This was the minimalist approach, Albert. One of the funniest things I have seen in ages, but it took the audience a while to twig what was going on.

A wonderful capture of life in your community. Do you ever take part in such events or do you always wear the photographer's hat Moira? Incidentally what colour is your hat? I often visit school and say I'm here with my governor's hat on - its the one with green feathers !!!

Cheers everyone, I'm home for a quick lunch. Some people obviously get this, some don't. The whole performance was entirely deadpan, monosyllabic, very slow-paced. Passion and happiness expressed with totally blank faces.
As for hats, they are a state of mind... Do I take part in this? No, I'm busy doing my thing behind the camera. But I am/have been involved in running, now let me see, The U3A, the Town-Twinning, the Community Partnership, the Community Allotment, the Town Show... I keep busy.

What a fun group. How you ever kept still (laughing yourself silly) to take this is beyond me. Some of their expressions just break me up.

They will get a part in EastEnders no bother.
Plenty deadpan and emotionless characters on that !!

Wot? No guest appearance by Stephen Lewis (Smiler from Last of the Summer Wine)?

Priceless, Moira, priceless.

Thank you everyone, and special thanks to Nathan and Trev for their UAs. I like the Smiler references, he would have been at home here. He would have made a good Prince Charming - which is not to criticise Sue's performance.

You know, this is the kind of stuff that great community is made of - and good memories too. Mrs. JawDborn is looking particularly ha..........er lovely.

I love all the different expressions, some introspective and others concentrated on the task.

I live in a small town, and although it is growing we still have community events that seem wonderfully intimate and memorable.

Actually, it's the fairy godmother and the ugly sister who look a bit puzzled. And a bit troubled too. I bet they're wracking their brains what to have for tea later Grin

This lot could indeed be characters from Last of the Summer Wine or another sitcom of that ilk! The expressions you've captured are priceless, it looks as though they are there in body but not in spirit!Grin
