The touch typing Toad

By NDODS
Good Morning from Chipstead Lakes

Thank you all for your comments and votes following yesterday Saturday Shadowily image of the Comma Butterfly.

Today's upload shows one of many hundreds and hundreds of tiny Toads which descended upon on us on a rather stormy night in the week.

This little chap and others had found their way into the accommodation and where frantically being picked up my the caring staff. However this little chap had escaped the frantic clutches and ended up on a table which I was working on with my MacBook Air. Not wanting to miss a great opportunity for a photograph I instantly grabbed my camera and managed to grab a few images.

I hope that you all have a great day, for me I am off home back to the Bungalow.

Regards NathanGrinGrinGrin

Very, very funny.
Do you know the Archy and Mehitabel poems by Don Marquis? Wikipedia link here . Archy is a cockroach who lives in a New York newspaper office and comes out at night to write his poems on the typewriter, by hopping from key to key. But he can't manage the shift key...

Toads

Why should I let the toad work
Squat on my life?
Can't I use my wit as a pitchfork
And drive the brute off?

Six days of the week it soils
With its sickening poison -
Just for paying a few bills!
That's out of proportion.

Lots of folk live on their wits:
Lecturers, lispers,
Losers, loblolly-men, louts-
They don't end as paupers;

Lots of folk live up lanes
With fires in a bucket,
Eat windfalls and tinned sardines-
They seem to like it.

Their nippers have got bare feet,
Their unspeakable wives
Are skinny as whippets - and yet
No one actually _starves_.

Ah, were I courageous enough
To shout, Stuff your pension!
But I know, all too well, that's the stuff
That dreams are made on:

For something sufficiently toad-like
Squats in me, too;
Its hunkers are heavy as hard luck,
And cold as snow,

And will never allow me to blarney
My way of getting
The fame and the girl and the money
All at one sitting.

I don't say, one bodies the other
One's spiritual truth;
But I do say it's hard to lose either,
When you have both.

These photos are entirely too cute Smile

We had an outdoor pond in Houston, and were kept up night after night while the toads mated. then we had hundreds of little ones eventually leaving their tadpole stage, climbing out of the pond and making their way across the garden..............
