olive trees provence

By maggietear
We had been searching for olive trees to photograph. Someone directed us to this little village at the bottom of Mont Ventoux and they were there in abundance. It was July, so the summer light was quite harsh.

For such harsh light this is very delicate.

Good use of the trunk and branches as a frame for the mass of green patterns and tones.

'Contre-Jour' ( yes-- I did French at 'O' Level ! ) is a favourite 'tool' of the Pictorial Photographer and you have taken it just right.

Lovely light
You've tamed the harsh light well and the shallow depth and composition suit the occasion so well. You have the eye it seems Maggie.

It may be harsh light (according to the comment above) but I feel it gives the image an almost magical, faery-like appearance! Lovely image, m'amie!!
