For me its not always about votes its shooting something that you haven't for a while ... a rarer wader in habitat with good detail is far more rewarding but as you say not in the votes .... still gets mine ...

Coal Tit

Coal Tit by Ray_Seagrove

Same again Ray not a great deal wrong but little tweaks would benefit so here go's ...
Overall a fine image, well exposed and good detail ...
The bird would be better with more of a head turn towards you !!
Just above the eye is a white speck that needs your attention ...
I would say that this is a bigish crop as the background is looking a bit funky and that you have tried to deal with this using a lasso mask or similar and run NR on the Background. The reason is that there is a noisey area creating a halo type affect around the bird.

Try either Guassian blur or Surface blur on the Bg

Gaussian Blur, mask as you already have on a new image and play around with the settings between 0.5 & 3.0 should do ...

Surface blur, in channels look at the red, green & blue and see what one has the most noise showing in the BG then filter > blur > surface blur with radius set at 10 adgust the theshold between 1.0 & 6.0 should do the trick no need to mask off normally !!

Agree the cones are tight in the frame a crop with more room around would also help with the Bg noise !!

You could put the original image in versions to show what you have done so as to be more helpfull next time ...

Great spotted Woodpecker (dendrocopos major)

Great spotted Woodpecker (dendrocopos major) by teocali

Very well exposed ... great head turn ... excellent detail all over, nice eye with c/l ...
The black blob infront of the bill could be blended into the Bg more to make it less eye-catching and may be tone down the green one aswell ...
