Kingfisher

By Maiwand
Kingfisher ( alcedo athis )
Another shot of the lovely plumaged Kingfisher. Same perch I'm afraid but at least he gives us the chance to see the superb feathering on the back.
V2 is a Sedge Warbler ( acrocephalus schoenobaenus )
I had been sat for quite a while waiting for the Kingfisher to appear. On this occasion it did not. I was intrigued however by a lot of movement in the reeds opposite and switched my attentiom to see what would show itself. The end result is no great shakes from a photographic viewpoint but I did manage to catch this little devil giving me a very cautious look from deep within the reeds. Thought you might like to have a laught at it.Grin

As always I am most grateful for the c/c's on the Blue Morpho. Perhaps I should try it more often.
Ron

Has to be V2 on this Ron.
V1 many congratulations for getting this elusive character again.
V2 I like the natural framing through the reeds and detail.
Its a Reed Warbler though not a Sedge.

two stunning shots. both perfectly sharp.
I love no 2 best, because of the top composition. it is so well set, the pose of the warbler watching and assessing you from his hide is fantastic!

Both superb in different ways. The colour and clarity of your KF image is superb and the narrative value of the Reed Warbler shot is great too.

Two excellent shots Ron, love the colours. I saw a Sedge Warbler recently in Blakeney, North Norfolk, had never seen one before, in fact a passer by had to tell me what it was, they are so tiny. My photos are not a patch on yours.
