Red Deer Stag

By Maiwand
The Red Deer Stag
Made a visit to Bushey Park this morning in the most pleasant company of Mossy and Peter Oak. Rut activity has not reached full pitch just yet but all the signs are there as you will note from this shot. Stags are in fine voice whilst rounding up and guarding their respective 'harems' and indulging in their characteristic 'gardening' routine. This fella has managed to whip up a pretty good hairdo.!!!
I hope you will enjoy looking.
Most grateful thanks for all c/c's for the Burrowing Owl and very particular thanks to Pete and Mike (Mike Smith) for the awards - HC and UA. Very generous of you all.

A terrific image of this magnificent beast, it looks like he means business and is not a character to be trifled with. As soon as time and weather allow I reckon a trip to Ashton Court Estate in Bristol in the company of the Big O is in order to see these and the much smaller fallow bucks
