The Sparrowhawk (accipiter nisus)
I hope you will understand and forgive yet another shot from my recent adventurous episode with this bird. However a number of people have been kind enough to ask if I could show another one and I have to say I am pleased to concur. I really do like the very savage look in the Hawks eye as he gazes down at his hapless victim. I have seldom seen such evil in a look. I really do have sympathy for that poor little Starling.!!!
Hope you will like this one.
Once again I must say how flattered I am at the c/c's on the Thrush. Its very flattering. Thank you all.

Yes, that is a very intense gaze as it stares down at it's prey: easily understandable why you should be posting another excellent shot.

Not sure that I agree with Hermans remark about the image being cruel, it is a fact of life and its wonderfully observed and captured. I am sure that he has come across similar images or worse living in South Africa's heartland.

Another brilliant capture of this handsome predator, Ron. Agree with you about the evil expression - he really is a natural born killer! Mind you, only doing what nature intended and for survival.
