Beechwood Moss

By malc_c
Out in the rain and snow yesterday in Burnham Beeches- the weather may not have been nice for us but it's wonderful for bringing out the colours and making everything sheen. And is it my imagination, or has all this precipitation made the mosses and lichens even greener than usual?

I came across these trees looking like they were being slowly consumed by the creeping mosses. I just rather like the gentleness and simplicity of this imperceptibly slow battle. I know it doesn't have the IMPACT that we are so often being urged to find, nor any real centre of focus, but does it need it?

Post processing consisted of a crop.

Vibrant colours and like the shapes of nature you've captured here. Interesting woodland shot. Like it. Paul

Vibrant green moss not the usual deep green of the black forest. I wonder if it has a symbiotic relationship with the tree in these damp conditions. Very strange shapes.
