One of many villages Diem and I passed through during one of our afternoon walks in the beautiful Lau Chai countryside hugging the Hoang Lien Mountain range and Fansipan mountain.
The Rice terraces are stunning to view, though the best time to visit is End of August/Beginning September when the rice is lush green, Diem and I plan to visit at this time in 2007.
Fansipan or Fan Si Pan (Phan Xi Pang in Vietnamese pronunciation) is a mountain in Vietnam, the highest in Indochina, at 3,143 m. It is located in the Lào Cai province in Northwest Vietnam, 9km south-west of Sa Pa Townlet in the Hoang Lien Mountain Range. Fansipan is branded "the Roof of Indochina".
Thanks for looking and for all your support on my second Vietnam series.
