A project I'm doing - a local sculptor has been commissioned to work on a memorial to Captain Scott & Dr Wilson of Antarctica fame. It is the centenary year of their last & fatal expedition, & this massive monument, from 40 tons of Aberdeenshire granite will be sited at the entrance to Glen Prosen, where much of the planning took place.
Have taken a series of shots of the progress - should be completed about end of year.

The sculptor? Looks more like my dentist at work, the sadist!Sad

Good detail retained in that white stone. Nice one.

A good start, shall be interested in the development, Malcolm.

What a great project, Malcolm. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a record of the making of old works of art, like Michelangelo's ceiling in the Sistine Chapel, for instance.

An artist at work photographed by another artist.
as Pamelajean says, this could be a photo of great interest in the future.
At the Gardening Scotland Exhibition, Scott was portrayed at one exhibit.

Sounds like a fascinating project, both the sculpture and your images.
