Tide's Out

By MalcolmS
Pondered and agonised over the crop to this one for long enough. Even considered chopping out everything above the reflection. Ended up with this but could change my mind.
Took it for the patterns in the sand really, maybe the vicious crop would be best.
Looks best large as usual

Nice shot. I can see why you pondered over the crop, take out too much of the sand and you loose the patterns, which give the shot good texture. I had a play in the large view and recon you could reduce some of the foreground and give the shot a little more impact. But thats just my opinion. Still a super image either way.

Yes, I agree. You could possibly crop more off the bottom and make the image squarer without losing the main interest of the shot.
Just my opinion, anyway!
Great photo though. Love the patterning in the sand and the reflections from the sky. Well done!

Great image Malcolm the texture in the sand pulls your eyes right into the image, I think it is fine as it stands but if you were going to crop I would crop from the bottom as the reflection in the sand gives enough impact to keep the eyes interested.

love the textures and detail
like it as it is but think you could crop a little of the less defined foreground pattern

Nice one Malcolm, great minds think alike. I like the crop as it is, it gives good depth to the image. I like the light reflection.

Yep, I see what you mean about crop, I'd sort of want to take the middle out... I was born and brought up some three feet from the sea and this image soo reminds me of the ripples underfoot. Love that ice cream sky reflection...
