Since I was a small kid there were two things that always got my atention when walking down the streets , HiFi equipment and cameras. I didn't even know what there were but to me they looked cool. First camera was a polaroid. From there on bought several meaningless cameras . My first good camera was an old olympus I was given free by a friend that took great pics. After that I bought an Olympus OM-77 think it was . Put the camera away for six months with the batterys installed which ultimately fried the circuits with acid. Had to throw it away , saved the lens , got me a Om-88 body , photos never were the same (first lesson learn , bodies do make a difference ).
Afterward after a time of dire straits got me a Nikon 35mm SLR and loved it . Beautiful exposing camera . Bad times again , sold it. Digital was on the move. Bought me a Nikon point and shoot , autofocusing was bad and sold it. Got me two years afterwards a Canon A640 and was in love again . Gave the Canon to my wife and bought me my first DSLR...Nikon D90 and went crazy taking pics and buying lens till this day. Great little camera ! Ever since I bought me my first DSLR I now have a Nikon D7000 and use the D90 as backup with lens from Nikon . I"m now getting into flash photography and pretty soon will buy me my first light kit with umbrellas and softbox . On photography I'm more of an ecleptic . Maybe it's just that I still haven't found my style . Some day I hope I will know.
