I like the subject - that long tree, very nice, great shape and loads of texture. But it does not stand out enough to get enough attention.
The background (treeline and mountains) have the same dark values as your main subject. Only the sky is a contrast with the rest of the image (pretty clouds here).
You will need to find a way to get that tree seperate from the background - I would go for a lighter version.
If you work with PS, you can select the tree and then make it lighter with Levels or Shadow/Higlight. Or you can use a mask to make just the tree lighter.
Hope this will help you to get more out of this image, since the basic elements for a good picture are in it - you just need to enhance it.
