Dam Busters!

By Margaret101
After many, many attempts I think I am nearly there with the blurred effect, It's not that good but I think I am starting to grasp how to do the effect and have an idea how I got it, This is at a beach called Cwmtuddau in Ceredigion. Thanks for all your comments on my last photo.

A very well exposed image Margaret in which you have captured the real beauty of this tumbling river.

Movement and not too milky, about right for me. Think you're as far as you can go without putting ND filters over the lens although a polarizer would extend the shutter time a bit. Tripod??

Nice comp, settings from exif look good so not just freeze the water. I spent a day with bill33 at start of summer shooting falls. I worked in AP with the shutter speed between 1/4 to 1 second, tried nd filter, but did not think that it gave me more control and tone, so packed it away, the only other thing I did was put on my B&W polarizer as Dave commented on, this will help with glare. Sometimes not cheep though........even without any other filter you did well and have walked away with shot worth posting.

Thanks Paul, I hadn't planned doing these shots as I was after the crashing waves. When I saw the dam built I just saw opportunity to try something I hadn't succeeded with before. Also I was a bit of a baddie as I didn't use a tripod but have just pulled it out and am determined to use it. Also thanks Dave for your comments too!
