Love

By Marioks
Took some photos while walking near the canal in the small town Minija (Minges kaimas) in Lithuania. My wife sat down on the bench with the dog, so I made some shots.

Is the dog or the lady the main subject? The dog, obviously, so you need to get in closer on the dog, or include more of the ladies head, but not crop her off across her eyes. I would favour including both with a still tight crop, but cut nearer the top of her head.

Then, up the ISO to about 400 and down two stops to increase the depth of field.

I understand you are likely trying to portray the love connection between the dog and you wife. I have to agree with Paul though, - you needed to use portrait orientation, include all of your wifes head, and perhaps a smile. As it is, it looks like you were undecided, and then close the dog. Your wife should not read this by the way!. So its bad news, you wife has to go!

The shot of the dog is good, but needs more light as shes shaded, and in a condition like this, popping your flash on wuld provide enough fill light to make a big difference.

Ive cropped, adjusted lighting, and used blur around the dog in the mod. Frame added just to fill in pixels.

I hope that all three of you like it!
