Foreign Invasion

By lifesnapper
Hi everyone, and welcome to the Weekend.
Yesterday afternoon I took myself down to Rochester ( Kent) which was over run with French, Italian, and Asian students. Old Rochester Castle invaded once again Smile This young Lady was my fav', and just had to get pic's of Her. Sadly though, I didn't get the shots that i wanted, as She spoke very little English, and no matter how Slooow and LOUD I spoke, she really couldn't understand much of what I said. I wanted one of Her facing away from me, and looking over to the Cathedral, so I could get a nice close up of Her face ( Profile ), with the sun, as it was then, on the Cathedral. Well she just about understood looking away from the camera, but after that, I just couldn't get through to Her, that I now wanted Her to look straight into my lens! It was hard work, but I think you'll agree, she was worth it Smile
I also now have a BIG insect bite on my face after falling asleep in the garden after a couple of beers. Not after any sympathy from you, which I guess is just as well Smile

Thanks to all who voted on my 'China Party'.
Have a great weekend, I'm off to the Maidstone River Festival. I hope none of those scantily dressed young Ladies get infront of my camera when I'm trying to take pic's of Boats, like they did two Years ago Wink

All the best to all,

John Smile

I go out looking for people shots and I see lumpen youths and decrepit old women of both sexes, you go out and the beautiful people queue up in front of your camera. Ain't fair. Love V2, and the knowing smile in V3.
Enjoy the weekend.

I can see why you wanted to photograph this young lady Smile Like them all, but I'm torn between V2 and V3 for my favourite this time.

Sorry to hear you got bitten. Just be grateful you don't get midgies in Kent. You'd have been eaten alive if you'd fallen asleep in the garden up here Smile

Lovely shots John, with #1 my favourite but great to see the smile in #3 too.

The bite sounds completely devastating and it's completely unfair why such dreadfull things happen to innocent people getting drunk in the sun. It must have ruined your life and be constantly on your mind keeping you up at night with worry, so I hope that it clears up quickly; at least before the summer finishes

V3 is a superbly knowing, almost cheeky smile; all are very well captured.
I have fluent French, John, if I can be of any assistance Smile
I'm also 400 miles away Sad

Lost for words!! Iíve been looking at V2 for days now (yes itís me John thatís been messing up your views - to votes statistics)!! Why do I love V2? - Itís simple, you have captured her so attractively in this picture. Together with the setting and backdrop works a real treat for me.
