Walls come tumbling down....

Hello avid blog readers (or nosey people who want to see what others get up to).

This weekend was a monumental weekend in the development of the new bathroom.
Started off fairly innocuously..........
Removed all the tiles from the remaining walls in the toilet. Filled about 4 rubble sacks with tiles and stored them in the garage with all the other rubbish to be disposed of.
Then popped down town to get a new mobile and visit the bath store to look at baths and sinks.
In the vodafone store I was asked if my new phone would be for playing music or taking photos............ I replied that I have an Ipod and Sony A350 that serve both those purposes so a phone that I could talk to other people on would suffice. Ended up with a Samsung SGH-G600 which just happens to be a very good music player and have an extremely capable 5 MegaPixel camera, apparently it can also make calls Smile
Got some better ideas on the bath and sink we shall get. then a grand tour of tiling shops.
Topps tiles, Comet homestyle, homebase, wickes etc etc. None the wiser - other than the fact that whatever I like, Helen hates!
Back home and rewired the lights so the two lights work off the pull switch in the bathroom.

Sunday morning removed the false wall with the shower unit behind and dismantled the shower unit and capped off the pipes. Discovered the original leak and the whole reason for the this bathroom blog was a broken seal on the bottom of the shower unit! Oh well come this far now may as well continue.
Removed the dorrs and door frames from the toilet and bathroom then let Helen loose with a club hammer.
3 hours later with bad backs, a garage full of rubble and a house full of dust with now have a combined bathroom and toilet! The room is a lot bigger than I imagined it would be and I'm really glad we have done it.

Just got to get the new bathroom furniture, plumb it all in, fix the ceiling where the wall was, build frames for the cupboards to go under the sink, build a stud wall at the end of the landing for the new walk in shower, Tile, sort out the floor, sort out new lights ........
crap.

Glad to be back at work for a rest.
Hope you are all well
Enjoy your week Smile

Mark
