Cheers, Peter! I can't remember specifically, to be honest - this pic was snapped in Girona a few yrs back. It's an arcaded government building in the old part of the city, just off one of the main squares (close to the old bridge). The arcades house restaurants and a few arty shops, if I remember correctly.
In the opinion of this humble traveller, GIRONA IS THE PEARL OF CATALONIA - NOT BARCELONA! It is Girona that has the real historical value (Arabic, Jewish, Spanish, Catalan, French and other substrates), the high cultural offer and the sheer unadultered beauty - Bnarcelona is but an opulent and ultra-commercialised cocotte - a playground for the rich (and often philistine) tourists. It's a great shame tis beautiful on-the-hilll Costa Brava city is so underestimated and overshadowed by its bourgeois sister.
