Flying fish

By MartinjD
Yep - another puffin!! or sand eel load carrier.

They were really busy yesterday bringing in their catches, running the gaunlet of the gulls. Saw a few get mugged on the ground, just after they had landed and before they got down their burrows. In flight, the gulls were no match for the puffins.

We got the day right for the weather anyhow.

I tried time after time to get one with this back drop - must empty my recycle bin now!!

Tried all focus modes - resorted to manual, trying to pick them up early and stay with it throughout. Many failures!!

Hope you like- best in large.

Martin

Yes, like it - like the flight of the wings and the colours.

Great Shot, I like the blur of the wing-tips, give a good impression of movement.

Excellent capture. Yes, the slight movement of the tip of the wing is very effective.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a recycle bin overflowing with stuffed in-flight shots!....But I did get a few, which I'm happy about, they're tricky little customers to say the least and you've done well here Martin....

Dead jealous Martin, lol, this a cracking flight shot & with sand eels. Well done!

I see you took this with the 70-200, can I ask how much has this been cropped from the main image?

Keep up the good work.
