Reflecting in Sri Lanka

By martynj
Spent the last week on a volunteer post-Tsunami house building project in southern Sri Lanka. We were based pretty much directly on the beach which gave some spectacular sunsets.

Do you find the composition in this one a bit messy? Would you prefer the edges cropped further? Thanks for your comments.

Martyn, this is truly beautiful, almost a counter for the devastation.... how could such trauma come from such a place? Makes me think. Love the image, no crop. just as it is. beautiful....helen

Brilliant shot, personally, I think the composition is spot on, and the colours are fantastic.

Well done, great sunset.

Jan, this was actually taken in Hikkaduwa - small world! 16 months after the tsunami, the Sri Lankan government has yet to hand out official compensation to many families, so those who can afford to rebuild their homes have done, but there are still many who are stuck in temporary accommodation. It's a really beautiful place though, and hopefully tourism will grow and boost local economies. The recent violence didn't effect this area at all.
