Blimey and I've just eaten an apple turnover Tongue This looks delicious one thing I can suggest is may be to keep the plate whiter. There's quite a lot of sprinkling around the edges and cake. I know some chefs use a dash of melted chocolate either around the edges of the plate or cake.

Looks tasty - but would ideally be sharper throughout, to give a stronger sense of texture.

Congratulations on producing a delicious-looking cake and presenting it so beautifully. I would like to have seen the top tip of the slice of cake within the frame. You have plenty of room at the bottom of the frame, so there's no reason for it to be clipped. The top of the cake is blending too well with the chocolate around the edge of the plate, and I think it needs to be better defined, so maybe no chocolate on the plate? Anyway, you can invite me to dinner any timeTongue!

This is a very much better composition than your later Apple Crumble. This is what food photography in the books and mags looks like. It does need to be a bit sharper, ideally, but I do like it.
