Moving legs/Static legs

By MarvKoon
Took a series of knee-level pictures while sitting on a bench on a busy shopping street. It was interesting to see the world from this angle.

I like the idea, especially with the inclusion of the model legs in the background. You already know it would look better timed so the legs are walking into the frame rather than out, so I wont mention it!

It does work as is though and nice to see something different.

Yep interesting, especially with the shop front behind.
Was this hand held? was there a bit of shake as the pavement could be sharper if the camera was solid on the bench next to you.
The chair on the RHS is a bit of a distraction with its orange cushion.
Nice image though.

All respect to Willie, but I think this is the quirky kind of shot where "rules" like having the subject walk into the frame can go out the window - I think the direction adds to the whole feel here, and there's a great balance between the human and model legs.

The orage cushion is obviously a distraction and can't be cropped away - I'd suggest just selectively desatutrating it to a shade of brown

Nice different kind of shot

You know I never noticed that orange cushion until I read this, - must have been the legs...

Cheers for your comments. The shot was taken with the camera placed on my knee while i was sitting on a bench. I took a series of pictures on the same theme and was nicely surprised with the results!

Good for you Willie - proves you've got your priorities right Wink GrinGrin

I like it Marvin.
Isn't it strange how sometimes shots taken 'on the spur of the moment' / 'without any planning' / 'entirely speculatively', produce such interesting and absorbing results. It's that 'thinking-outside-of-the-box' thing again.
Very well done. You must be pleased with the result

Like the uniformity in the step, not bothered about them walking out of shot. It's balanced. Also think the cushion gives context, without disyraction don't need to lose it.
