The pose and expression are great, and so is the framing, including just enough of the game board to make the visual pont and create a nice triangular composition. It would have been better, though, to use a stop or so of negative exposure compensation to avoid burnning out his hair and the board surface. I appreciate that the lighting was not ideal for your purposes, but when it fools the camera into over-exposing then one can do something about that.

The subject and timing are very good. I agree with the exposure being a little high. I would crop this quite a bit, removing a lot from the left and leaving the post, while straightening; remove the opponents finger; reduce highlights; modify colour balance to reduce red, increase yellow a little; sharpen.
The closer crop brings attention to the mans face a lot better, and the other changes improve the overall appearance of the image.
All done in the mod.
