Iconic Glasgow

By maryg
A view from the hotel window capturing three of the famous Glasgow Icons.

The Squinty bridge ( seen on the Scottish news every night) frames the Armadillo which hosts many concerts and conventions and the Finnieston Crane . Had a lot of difficulty getting the tripod in position in my small hotel room and , as I had put my 18 - 200mm lens in for repair , had to use the 150 -500 lens. I think I would have liked to have been a wee bit further back to get the composition exactly as i would have liked. However the long exposure did give me a pleasing result with lots of fine detail ... and the Herald published it yesterday. Quite chuffed at that.

Hope you are all ejoying thefestive season.
Regards Mary

Until I read your opening remarks, I was puzzling over your possible viewpoint for this one, Mary.
A fine image capturing so many interesting landmarks in the one frame.
Ronnie.

I think this is smashing.

See what you mean about zooming out slightly to get the Crowne Plaza in but I like it 'as is'.
Kinda shows how cramped Glasgow is for space!

All the best
