Knowlton Church

By Matman
An early attempt into HDR.

I have enjoyed other giving a brief history so I thought I would join in...Smile

This is an old ruin of a church built in the 14th Century and lies in the middle of a pagan earth circle. Built in the Bronze age it sits in the site of an ancient complex of Knowlton Rings, consisting of 4 earthworks.

Knowlton was once a thriving community but in 1485 the village suffered the fate of so many other settlements and was virtually wiped out by the Black Death (Bubonic plague).

In around 1747 the Church was given a new roof which promptly fell in! It was then abandoned and left to ruin.

Large is better...

You have done well to balance th sky and the ruins with HDR. Did you do two separate HDRs and merge them?
Nicely balanced.

Hi Jon,

To be honest I am not sure what you mean but it was three images combined into one HDR image and then tone mapped.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

The large image is pretty good, the thumbnail doesn't do it justice
