Standing Tall

By Matman
I'm not having much luck lately! Which is resulting in a severe lack of images.

The forecasted weather conditions were good for some low lying mist this morning so I headed off to Corfe Castle at 03:30 to give me time to hike up a hill and catch the shot I have been after for ages!

There was some cracking mist on the way down there and was rubbing my hands together in anticipation (and then quickly grabbed the steering wheel again!) but of course none at Corfe Castle itself! My only saving grace was a good sunrise.....nah!! There was one layer of cloud on the horizon and it was covering the East!!

This is two shots stitched which were in turn two shots each exposed for the sky and land and then blended in CS3.

I shall never surrender....I WILL GET THE SHOT I'M AFTER!!!.....won't I???!!

Thanks for looking...Smile

I'd love to see the colour version of this.

Good all round image, for my tastes would like to see a bit more contrast, but excellent composition

Hi Matt. Colour or more contrast were my initial thoughts. I also think the early morning haze gives an 'washed out' look to the left hand hills whereas the colour version might look 'misty'. A shot from lower down the hill would possibly be better so you could get the castle above the skyline.

Nice picture, shows all the landscape nicely. Mono suits this shot as well.
