St Kilda Sunset

By matt d
This photo was taken looking out to the sunset from St Kilda Beach, Melbourne, Australia a few years ago. I was sitting on the rocks watching the sun go down when I saw a boat in the distance sailing across the water and waited for the moment it crossed the reflection of the sun on the water to take the shot.
This was taken with an old Olympus film camera as I was backpacking at the time and had not started with digital cameras by then. Now really wish I had as the quality would have been much better but I still feel it made for quite a nice image.

Wonderful light, gorgeous colours.
I wonder if a litle more severe crop of the sea in the f/g could improve the shot even further, just a thought!

Best wishes,
George.

Well, good timing, shows it's the person behind the camera that makes a picture, not the equipment. However, a crop would improve the impact.
