A Frosty 'Setting'

By MattB1987
Well today's offering was taken in the minutes leading up to yesterdays upload. I was setting up ready for the sunset and this was the first shot I took to try and iron out exposure settings etc. In the process I forgot to take the white balance off 'auto' and obviously the 10 stopper threw it a tad. Anyway when I had a look at the photo tonight it really grew on me so I thought I would work with it.

I did some like work on it in lightroom, i was going to remove the lens flare but I thought it added to the final feel, but that might just be me.

Anyway I will leave it in your lovely hands again and I hope you enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to look and of course all comments and critiques are very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt

I like this Matt, your treatment has given it quite a surreal otherworldly air to it. A mono would work well I guess too and you do them well.

Personally I do think the lens flare detracts from the simplicity of it though.

Incidentally, what position was the tide at when you took this?

Thanks guys, good idea about mono, ill give that a try tonight Smile and I agree now I have uploaded it and looked at it I think the flare is a little distracting from the rest of it.

Thanks again,
Matt

Oh I forgot to say, it was literally just after low tide, so luckily I had dry feet for once lol.

Lovely tones, Matt. I very rarely touch the white balance, leave it on auto and shoot in raw - adjust for effect. The flare is a tad intrusive.
