Thanks for the comments.
Charlotte, if you look at the Robin picture in my collection it too has a ring. I took the bird pictures at a widelife trust. I guess they must ring the birds even though they are wild?

A wonderful sharp and detailed capture.

I am a member of a local reserve, and once a week they have ringers visit. They catch the birds in nets and record the various species that visit the reserve, ring them and then they are released. No harm comes to them, hope this is useful.

Hello Gary, such a good light on the blue tit bringing out all the beautiful markings so well...sharp and colourful exposure. Nice one.
Doug.
PS. Sorry about the tree in my latest but that is the primary reason all us landscape photographers use this location as it helps compose the moorland scene.
Nice shot and detail. Click

This is a superb shot, you have captured the beautiful colours of the bird perfectly, I like the way he is hanging onto the brightly coloured net. Very fitting title.

Thanks Neil. When I first joined EPH my first target was to get a 30'er. Target achieved so now need to build portfolio to the standard of so many members. Just bought medium format camera so will be out and about again asap.
Thanks to all

nice shot!! how did you get it all black in the background?

I had set the ap to give as fast a shutter speed as possible, as the background was well shaded by trees and bushes the background was totally blacked out naturally. There was no post image adjustment in this respect. Gary

The large version is superb, with more visible detail. I like how the background is blacked out too, accident or not. Well done.
