Taken with a +1 close-up attachment, and lit with a halogen uplighter illuminating the ceiling. 1 second exposure taken at F20.

One day I'll buy a macro lens and decent flash, but until then...

Nice one Max, no need to buy expensive equipment when your taking shots of this quality. Look at my expensive macro equipment in sight, just good lighting and my reliable Fuji

Lovely details, well caught.

Would your lighting have been too much if put behind? Might've shown a translucent look to the petals?

Many thanks for the comments.

Angela, unfortunately the uplighter I'm using is 6 feet tall and can only really be used to illuminate the ceiling, albeit very brightly. Having said that I could lean it against something to illuminate from behind. I might have a play sometime.

Regards, Max.

This is a great close-up. What I use for lighting is just a small telescopic halogen light which I got from Ikea for a few quid, in fact if not mistaken the Lidl shop (dare I say it)has advertised a similar one on sale next Monday, no I dont work for them but will probably purchase another.
