window sill

By maxmelvin19
I am a complete beginner, so don't be too harsh. This is taken with my dad's old, but beautiful, slr. This is a part of a selection of photos that I've scanned and fiddled with (a tiny bit) from my second roll of film ever.

A good lesson in depth of field! Keep it going you've got the right idea. We all have to start somewhere and the main thing is that you enjoy it!!

It may work better if there was a small ( but interesting ) item on the window sill. This would then be the obvious point of focus and show the DOF really well.

I'm not sure if the verticals are totally vertical, if they aren't then it's by a smidgen.

I like the style of muted colour. It works very well.

images like this sell for loads at the right galleries!

welcome, and one bit of advice is not to overcomplicate or try to be mainstream , (like do what everyone else sees)

you saw tones and that has worked so well

Hi Max I agree with Alan about maybe including a point of interest for the very narrow dof, something to suit a theme maybe an old pocket watch or something. I like the soft grainy effect you have achieved in this image.
