#1 as i find #2 view confuses the eye. The manipulation is really effective.

There's a blueish area above his left (our rhs) eye, like someone wrote a short note there with a ball-pen and subsequently took his head for a ride in a washing machine. Intentional? There's a more subtle area of it on the lower-left side too...or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

impressive ps work on that dof
17 Nov 2008 1:55PM
whoops... I seem to be missing my target here lol. Everything you see in the picture is intentional Tommy. The dof is in camera

got to be V1...very calming somehow..

happy new handle Koen.may it serve you well..

It does have a restful look to it. I used to open those cold long drawers in the mornings and decide whice one I shall take apart to see the cause of death. Anaemic and pale, with just enought suggestion that violence or trauma was present. Nevertheless beautifully executed (no pun intended) Smile

The violence part struck my mind but as the title left me clueless...
still think I would prefer it without the blue though. But very nice work

With belgiskewhotsitanyway you had a name that noone could spell, pronounce or remember, yet loyally people clicked it every time. Surely a case for advertising students to dig deeper into.

Will be interesting to see what this name can do Smile
18 Nov 2008 2:40AM
err... with the TTV overlayer I wasn't really trying to suggest traces of violence. I was trying to be arty farty Sad

Were you really a forensics doctor André ?

Back for a second look. I'm still not sure about the blue...but...the more I look at it the more I think it's a great image. For me it's violent death in the nineteenth century, drowned man and a mortuary table - perhaps I shouldn't have read so much Emile Zola; I'd better have a cup of tea and a lie down! Truth is, really, I like pictures like this (and J Kitch's, some of T Hoops' etc) that just invite you to write the story in your head.

Just seen Andre's comment. Perhaps he can give us a conclusive opinion on the objects in the face question. Well, is it or isn't it, Andre?

Disturbing and uncomfortable.
Too much like something out of Silent Witness for me and I'm not the least bit squeamish.
Doesn't make it a bad photo though as I feel it generates the response you might be expecting/hoping for and good photography doesn't have to be easy to look at.

thank you bhumika for the very nice words. your's looks most promising as well, but will have a look at a later time, as looking from this crappy 10 inch laptop screen I'm sitting behind now, wouldn't do the photos much justice, I'm afraid.
