Great detail -- not just photographically but also with respect to the endearing content like the way the glasses have been repaired. Her hands are absolutely stunning, her facial expression tells me that she's tense, has great worries. Is the out of focus part as it was or have you added extra blur? I think a bit more detail on the shoulder would be a good lead in to that endless distance. I'm just being picky. Great tones. Regards, Bert

The detail in this is fantastic. I love the eyes. It makes me want to sympathise with her predicament whatever that may be. Excellent.

Considering the amount you've cropped out. this certainly packs impressive detail. Must be all those zillion Meggy Pixels at your disposal.

Very expressive, and well toned, but you know I like the original uncropped colour version just as much. Just needs a contrast boost IMO and it would be a cracker in it's own right.

thanks Smile
Was hoping this would be received well, so pretty pleased with the outcome.
Robert, no seperate threatment on the bg and fg here. toning is the same for both (actually it's the gradient map, but faded to 80 or 90 percent).
The glasses (frame) gave me a lot of problems while sharpening (jagged edges), so I had to select everything around the specs and sharpen it, and then select the insides of the specs and sharpen those. Not perfect I guess, but quite happy with the result.

This is a corker, Koen. The facial detail, the brave crop, the toning and the wonky specs it's all spot on.

Slightly distracting reflection in the left lens. Like the catchlight on the ring. Love it as a portrait.
