The wire looks like it is shaking hands with itself.
Good textures here

I don't know the texture image much.. it's hard for me to make comment.. I think that I may prefer to see it closer. Well spotted image.

Nice tetures, I like V2 betterGrin I think I would be tempted to crop a bit from the left.

V2 does bring enhance the image, Steve: I have found that with such subjects, slight enhancement of contrast will also enhance detail more effectively than sharpening itself.

For me version 2 is more punchier and in turn more appealing.

Definately V2 i think its punchier so well done SteveSmile
Thats interesting what Ronnie said as i have a tendency to sometimes oversharpen in an attempt to squeeze that wee bit more out of an image. Cheers Ronnie Smile

Good lessons learned all round.
the added contrast works a treat.
Like Fefe I too want to crop from left to make subject less central.
Great textures and well observed.

Love the colours and textures of this V2 is my choice but I think that I would crop the left hand side to take the post off centre and hopefully give a higher profile to the knot in the wire - Elizabethxx
