Wine Stained

By mellyleth
Thought I'd do some more abstract stuff as I enjoyed it so much last time, except thought it would be nice to introduce some colour this time. The set up was similar to the previous shots (ie lit with a snoot at the right hand side) and I used the wall as the background. The liquid isn't really wine, it's fruit flavoured tea :o)

By the way, very little has been done in the way of post production (I've uploaded the original shot from camera in the mod section, so feel free to take a look).

I'm really going to have to have a go at this style of picture. Must treat myself to some decent lighting kit - any excuse Smile

Thanks Miz and Alison (go treat yourself!).

Rab, love that mod - completely different to mine. Thanks Smile

Just out of interest, I tried putting borders on these images, but couldn't find anything I was happy with (I felt that they took the emphasis away from the actual image) - so I have just added thin black lines, which personally I think adds to the minimalist approach. Also, as Rab pointed out to me earlier, it's less abstracty and more still life really..

great looking photograph - simple, stylish and good composition
the touch of red definitely adds to the overall image

i've been experimenting with some wine glass images lately and was going to do one similar to this

frames are a difficult one - they can either really pull an image out to the viewer or totally overshadow it - my personal favorite is the black with white inner line style - it definitely holds everything in one place

keep up the great work =)

This is awsome, reminds me of a montage in PM by Lee Frost. Very good image and i like the off centre placing of the wine glass.

A great image.
