A late summer shot from last year at a location on the Mendips which always has a good show of Devil's Bit Scabious. This attracts a lot of insects with good number of butterflies and hoverflies as they feed on the nectar that the flowers produce. Also attracts big flies like this Flesh fly. This individual spent the night perched on a flower that not yet opened on the edge of a patch. The sun had just started to rise so I was able to get a bit more illumination on one side of the fly.

Many thanks for the votes and comments on the previous upload of the Crab Spider, very much appreciated.
