Fly - Scathophaga species

By Mendipman
Taken in the early morning at GB Gruffy on the Mendips in Somerset.

Found this fly very close to a still flowering devils bit scabious and I was hoping I could get that effect with the flower filling the entire dew drop, however, I think in this case, the flower was too small to have the desired effect, you can just about see it in the drop on the fly's head!!.

Still it makes for a nice alternative colour backdrop to the usual greens and browns.

Many thanks for the votes and comments on the previous upload of the Greenbottle.
