This little frog, and several thousand others, are at a little reservoir just down the lane near where I live.

The same as last year, we watched the frogs arrive at the reservoir, then the frog spawn appeared a few weeks later, then as the weeks passed by we watched the tadpoles swimming around, then they develop their legs.

Then a short while later, these little fellas are hopping about the water's edge! There are literally hundreds of them so we have to tread very carefully on the approach.

I took lots of photos but they don't stick around for long. I didn't manage to catch any mid jump, which would've looked really good... Maybe next weekend...

Thanks for looking,

Chris

Good sense of scale.

What a cutie! A shame the point of focus seems to be on it's back rather than it's eye, but saying that (as PeelNStick has pointed out) it's lovely to see the scale of these tiny froglets.

As it was sitting there on your palm....Um! Did you never think of eating it? Nice shot.

Thanks for the comments so far... Yeah, the focus was a little off on this one but he barely stopped moving enough to get this shot, and no, I didn't think about eating it! Wouldn't be very filling anyway... Smile

Thanks again.
