Ludlow Chase

By mic5cott
Taken at Ludlow yesterday, struggling to get rich colours, any ideas? When I shoot in jpeg it tends to under expose, raw is better but having problems with PS.

I like this alot, the colours drag the riders forward into the frame, whilst the jump stays further back. nicely done.

Hey Mike, you're almost there.

Try to pre-focus on the fence prior to the action and lock it. Take a few quick shots before the horses arrive and check and lock the exposure settings (bit keep an eye out for exterem changes in light). Shooting RAW is better but you still should be able to get good shots in JPEG.

Another thing to do is zoom in as tight as you can when the field is small or spread out - concentrating on the action and losing the sky and needless space.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes, Simon
