Good set of images, Michaela, lots of texture and that interesting and colourful lichen. 1,2 & 3 are almost abstract but I do like v3 which establishes the reality and puts the lichen in context.

I have to admit to never having seen red lichen like this, Michaela. I like your close take in V1.

I think it's V1 followed by V3 for me. The red really stands out against the dark, striated texture of the tree.

Nor have I see lichen this colour - it's most beautiful. Of these, I like v2 for showing the whole context, and v3 for the nice abstract like close-up. Wonderful textures.

Extraordinary red lichen - I like v3 for the abstract.

what I like is the flow of wood grain towards the point, like water flowing downstream

First off, LOVE the title Grin
Second, that is one great stump, especially the view of it in V2.
Third, that is some gorgeous lichen! I've never seen that sorta colour before. So arresting.

You don't see that very often the air must be very clean, normally the grey or greenish type are more common nice one like it, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
